Belarus increases purchasing prices of meat, milk, crops
The purchasing prices of meat, milk and some crops bought from farms for public needs have been raised by Belarus' Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
The prices of sugar beets have been raised by about 150%, rapeseeds by 210%, and buckwheat by 110%. In particular, sugar beets increased in price from BYR140,000 (US$17.48) to BYR350,000 (US$43.70) per tonne, rapeseeds from BYR1 million (US$124.84)) to BYR3.1 million (US$387), and buckwheat from BYR1.7 million (US$212) to BYR3.7 million (US$462). The purchasing prices of milk, cattle, beef, hogs and pork have been raised by between 70-100%.
In particular, milk has been increased in price to between BYR2.6-3.2 million (US$325-399) per tonne, hogs for slaughter to between 8.9-19 million tonnes, pork to between BYR17-31.7 million (US$2,122-3,958), cattle for slaughter to between BYR5.4-65 million (US$674-8,115), and beef to between BYR14-121 million (US$1,748-15,106).
