US dairy exports increased
US dairy export volumes improved slightly in February, due to continued strong sales of milk powder and cheese, according to trade data released by USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service.
Total export value was a record high US$435 million, up 27% from February 2011. In the December-February period, US exports of dry ingredients (milk powder, whey, lactose), cheese and butterfat were 391,565 tonnes, up 1% from the previous year.
