US congressmen introduce food safety recall bill

Legislation that would require the USDA to list all end-users of recalled products was introduced by 11 members of the US congress.

The new bill would require the USDA to list all school districts and retail outlets that received meat from any voluntary recall, regardless of the class of the recall.

The requirement will also be imposed on companies that recall any USDA regulated food products.

The USDA would be obliged to update the list continuously as the information becomes available.
