Vietnam to improve aquaculture sector
Vietnam's fisheries sector is set to invest VND118 billion (US$7.4 million) to improve the management of aquaculture breeding techniques and breeding habitats. The funds will be used for personnel training and improving and developing infrastructure.
Foreign organisations and experts will also be invited to conduct research while sharing their technologies.
Farmers in Hau Giang, An Giang, Vinh Long and Dong Thap provinces and Can Tho city have already applied new models of aquaculture, which turn out safer, value-added products. Plans are also being made to open training courses for farmers before the start of the next season.
