Market analysis

Several feed millers, who have secured ample lysine supplies to last for about a month, held back buying while soymeal prices continued to slide. Some producers cut prices in a bid to move sales although others stood firm while export demand remained robust.

In Europe, price quotes for Q2 deliveries were mainly in the range of EUR1.32-1.36/kg. Several producers lifted prices to EUR1.40/kg.

Market forecast

Lysine usages are expected to be limited as soymeal prices stay soft and hog feed sales remain flat. However, with export demand firm, lysine producers will be reluctant to slash prices.
