Russia meat production up 11.4 percent on-year
From January through March 2009, the production of meat in Russia, including first grade by-products, rose 11.4 percent year-on-year, to 749,000 tonnes, according to the Federal State Statistics Service.
However, sausage product manufacturing was down 9.4 percent to 503,000 tonnes.
The production of whole-milk products (in milk equivalent) rose 1.4 percent, to 2.5 million tonnes.
