ACMC delivers 525 genetically-advanced pigs to China
ACMC, a British pig-breeding company, has delivered 525 genetically-advanced breeding pigs to China, in a deal, including technical support, valued at US$1.48 million.
Flown from the UK to Shijiazhuang, the pigs will be under the care of Shijiazhuang Shuangge Food Co Ltd in Hebei Province.
Besides producing pigs for its own use under a 20-year franchise agreement, the company will also be supplying improved breeding stock to other hog farmers within the province. Through this method, the farmers are able to produce over a million of better quality pigs for slaughter annually.
