Britain's retail feed production increases on-year

 

 

Great Britain's retail production of animal feed increased on-year, while integrated feed production has declined.

 

The information has come from the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affair's (DEFRA) in its animal feed statistics report for Great Britain during February 2013.

 

According to the figures, Britain's retail production of animal feed was up 5.9% compared to February last year and raw material usage in the retail production of animal feed was up on-year by 6.5%. However, the figures showed that integrated feed production was down by 2.5% last year.

 

Average prices for animal feed for the period October-December 2012 were: cattle and calf feed at £250 (US$382) per tonne; pig feed and poultry feed at £282 (US$431) per tonne; and sheep feed at £242 (US$370) per tonne.
