Russia reports slow spring grain planting
Russia planted spring grains on 1.045 million hectares to April 14, which is 693,000 hectares less compared to the same date last year, according to the Agriculture Ministry.
The delay in the planting of spring grains is attributed to inclement weather conditions.
Corn was planted on 9,700 hectares in Kransodar and Stavropol regions, with planting starting earlier than last year, the ministry said. Russia plans to plant spring grains on 30.2 million hectares this year.
