Biomin strengthens presence in Chennai, India

BIOMIN, a leading global company focusing on health in animal nutrition, has announced the relocation of its office, warehouse operation and team to Chennai, India.

 

This initiative reinforces BIOMIN's commitment to India as a strategic South Asia market for animal feed additives.

 

The Indian poultry industry is estimated at US3.1 billion (Rs125 billion).  According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, production is estimated at around 2.3 million tonnes of poultry meat and 47 billion eggs. The organised poultry meat sector is growing at the rate of 10 to 12 percent while egg sector is growing at the rate of six to seven percent.

 

Poultry feed comprises of around 70 percent of the total cost of production of eggs and chicken. The Indian poultry industry consumes close to 15 million tonnes of feed with an estimated value of Rs15,000 crore.
