China methionine prices consolidate lower
Prices of methionine were stable to lower during the week ending April 14.
Methionine sales improved while animal feed consumption expanded, but cautious feed millers limited procurements with the outlook of China uncertain. Hence, traders in some regions lowered prices in efforts to stimulate buying interest.
Price quotes of imported dl-methionine were in the range of RMB26.50-27/kg.
Even though demand will increase in the coming period, prices of methionine are unlikely to firm up as feed millers maintain low stocks to be on the safe side.
