Russia's poultry imports show on-year decrease

Russia imported US$25.8 million worth of poultry in March, down 60.5% on the year but up 74% on the month, according to the Federal Customs Service.

The service did not give tonnages of the imports, only their worth in dollars.

The fall in imports on the year is largely because Russia is not currently importing poultry from the US. US poultry is treated with chlorine, which is against Russian health regulations.
