Press Release

Evonik Degussa has hired Dr. Chee Seng Huan as Technical Sales Manager in order to strengthen its South Asia technical support, and has also opened an AminoNIR lab in Mumbai to enhance the analytical service to its customers.

Dr. Chee has recently acquired a Ph.D. in broiler nutrition from University of New England, Armidale, Australia.

Before doing his Ph.D., Dr. Chee was based in Malaysia where he was working as nutritionist in the feed industry for 10 years. Based on his previous experience from the feed industry and his educational background, Dr. Chee is expected to be well-prepared to tackle the challenges of a TSM here in the fast growing market for feed additives. He will be based in Singapore and focus mainly on supporting projects in South Asia.

The newly opened AminoNIR lab is located at the premises of Evonik's local Health and Nutrition feed additives sales office for India.

Near-Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy (NIRS) has been used for feed ingredient analysis for many years and Evonik has developed specific calibrations for prediction of crude protein and all essential amino acids for the major feed ingredients including;

At the AminoNIR satellite lab in Mumbai, Evonik can also analyse the crude fat, crude fibre, starch and ash content of the raw materials.

Having this lab in the region gives Evonik additional analytical capacity and a faster response time due to better logistics.

Evonik has appointed Ms. Vimala Bogham as Lab Manager to run the lab. Ms. Bogham holds a degree in Chemistry from University of Mumbai and before joining Evonik, she worked as a Chemist in the Quality Control Department for a Bulk Drug manufacturer in Mumbai.
