Brazil soy 71 percent harvested, 64 percent sold
Brazil's 2007-08 soy crop is 71 percent harvested and 64 percent sold as of April 11, farm consultancy Celeres said Monday.
Celeres said the soy harvest in Mato Grosso, Brazil's leading soy producing state, is almost complete with 99 percent harvested by April 11 compared to 96 percent on April 4.
In Parana, the second largest soy producing state, 80 percent of the soy crop was harvested by April 11 versus 65 percent on April 4.
According to Celeres, farmers in Mato Grosso have sold 83 percent of their soy crop as of April 11 compared to 82 percent on April 4.
Farmers in Parana had sold 46 percent of their soy versus 43 percent on April 4.
