Swedish dairy imports up by 77% in five years

 

 

Sweden's imports of dairy products increased by 77% to SEK7.30 billion (EUR 800.43 million; US$1.16 billion) from 2005 to 2010, according to the latest report by Swedish dairy association, Svensk Mjölk.

 

In the same period, exports of Swedish dairy products have increased by 45% to SEK4.1 billion (US$654.89 million).

 

Milk supplies to Swedish dairies were reduced by 0.1% in February 2011, compared with the same month in 2010. In the whole EU, the supplies are increasing: in January by 2.7% compared with January 2010.
