PRRS hits one more Vietnamese province

 

 

The Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS) in pigs has been reported in one more northern province Hung Yen of Vietnam, according to the Department of Animal Health (DAH) on Tuesday.

 

The blue ear disease struck three communes of the province killing over 250 pigs out of 2,400 infected pigs, according to DAH.

 

Provincial health officials in affected provinces are taking measures to prevent the spread of the disease, said the department.

 

Vietnam has reported four northern provinces being hit by the blue ear disease namely Thai Nguyen, Thai Binh, Hai Duong and the newly-reported Hung Yen.
