DSM holds poultry technical meetings
 

 

DSM Nutritional Products has recently organised a Poultry Technical Meeting across Europe, touching on the topic of the latest developments in poultry nutrition among others.

 

The meeting was held in the Coventry in the UK, Arnhem in The Netherlands and Madrid in Spain.

 

The seminar topics include the latest developments in genetics, management and nutrition, focusing on how these factors could improve quality and performance in the poultry sector.

 

Keynote speaker Professor Z. Uni from Israel's Hebrew University, spoke of the latest studies conducted by her team regarding the importance of nutrient transfer from breeders to chicks and on the chicks' optimal nutrition as well as the latest research in this field.

 

Uni explained the method of "In ovo feeding" as a good way to supply sufficient nutrients to embryos and thus to prevent deficiencies.

 

Dr E. Folegatti from DSM Nutritional Products Europe explained the benefits of adding vitamin D metabolite Hy.D® to feed, which includes improved skeletal development, product quality and productivity.

 

Experts from DSM Nutritional Products also reviewed the role of phytase in minimising dietary phosphates as well as the current shortage of phosphates in the market.
