Foul eggs reported in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh
Local reports indicate that buying eggs from Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City can be risky as suppliers do not follow sterilization and testing procedures.
The HCMC Animal Health Department sets regulations for egg suppliers and retailers according to a three-tiered system.
At the first level, businesses buy eggs from farms, sterilize them and test for safety and quality.
A Vietnamese newspaper said that this is what local suppliers fail to do, posing a threat to unsuspecting consumers.
