Northeast China's grain imports surge by 91 percent
The total grain imports of Northeast China during the first two months of 2008 soared by 90.7 percent.
The imports from North China's three provinces amounted to US$130 million. The volume accounted for 3.9 percent of China's total grain purchase in the period.
Liaoning's grain import was valued at US$71 million, up 78 percent. Jilin's import surged by 101 percent valued at US$53 million.
Total imports of Heilongjiang provinces expanded by 78 percent at US$2.7 million.
