Pfizer Animal Health to expand Belgian facility

Pfizer Animal Health will invest EUR22 million (US$32 million) at its facility in Belgium in an expansion project.

The pilot plant at Louvain-La-Neuve, where veterinary vaccines are manufactured, will be expanded. A new centre with an area of 1,300 square metres will be built to accommodate a full range of research, development and antigen production.

The centre is slated to be fully operational by the end of next year. The company expects that the investment will lead to improved efficiency and greater flexibility in production. This means that in case of an unexpected pandemic, production capacity can be quickly adjusted.
