Kazakhstan's grain inventories take an upturn
Grain supplies in Kazakhstan on April 1 totalled 12.972 million tonnes, 4.5 million tonnes more than on the same date last year, according to the national statistics agency.
The extra 4.5 million tonnes has been earmarked for export, but currently Kazakhstan finds grain export difficult because of low world prices and problems with transportation to world markets.
Of the total amount of grain inventories on the date, 9.782 million tonnes are milling grain, the statistics agency said.
