China Sun Bio-Chem expands corn processing capacities
Reflecting the rapid growth of the corn processing industry that is putting a strain on China's corn supplies, one of the top corn processing companies in China announced plans and acquisitions to expand capacities.
China Sun, one of the top corn starch producers in China and the leading modified starch manufacturer is acquiring a corn starch processing plant in Tieling, Liaoning province with annual processing capacity of 50,000 tonnes.
Sky Bright Group Ltd, a subsidiary company of China Sun Bio-chem Technology Group Company Ltd, would acquire the plant for RMB 300 million (USD 38.8 million) from Harvest Rich.
China Sun also announced in January 2007 its plans to invest about RMB 185 million (about US$ 23.7 million) in a facility located in Suzhou in Jiangsu province to produce corn sweeteners, reported FLEXNEWS.
China Sun produces more than 200 varieties of modified starch products.
