Russia's Talex Group to launch meat processing plant in Voronezh Region
A meat processing plant amounting to RUB1.4 billion (US$47 million) is to be launched by Russia's Talex Group near the city of Voronezh on June 28, the Voronezh Region government said in a statement Wednesday (Apr 11), as cited by RIA Novosti.
The plant, whose construction began in 2009, is to become the region's first processor of pork, cattle, and sheep with access to frozen products. The pork line is to process 120 heads per hour, cattle - 20 heads per hour, sheep - 50 heads per hour.
Talex Chairman Alexander Totunov said the plant had a sufficient number of suppliers but in the next three to four years it is to form its own farms.
