Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS), or blue ear disease, has killed hundreds of pigs last month in northern Vietnam's Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Thai Binh, Hai Phong and Hanoi regions, according to the Central Steering Committee for Bird Flu Control and the Animal Health Department.
The outbreak first started in Hai Duong province.
Hung Yen authorities have reported infections in over 1,000 pigs within the province, of which 217 died.
