Philippine Authorities Approves Poultry Plant
 

The Philippine Department of Agriculture (DA) has approved the operation of a P100-million chicken processing plant in Laguna Technopark, Sta. Rosa Laguna that will source chicken parts from the United States.

Agriculture Sec. Luis P. Lorenzo, Jr. has given his support to the food processing plant which will be operated by Royal Cargo Combine Logistics, Inc. and US- based Perdue Farms, Inc. The processing plant will source chicken and chicken parts from the US for processing and re-export to other countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

"In principle, we are giving our blessing to the project because we were assured that their final export shipment will have 40% local content and that we could buy some of their products subject to my approval and depending on supply and demand situation," Mr. Lorenzo said.
