Norway's 2030 seafood exports to hit US$36.57 billion

If Norway's seafood export maintain its current growth level, the country will export total seafood value of NOK200 billion (US$36.57 billion) in 2030, forecast Rolf Domstein, Chairman of the Norwegian Seafood Export Council.

Domstein cites the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China) as key for the development of Norwegian seafood export.

By 2030, the population in these countries is expected to increase by 400 million, meaning consumption levels will rise accordingly. Fish farmers are also expected to increase their stock to 90 million tonnes in 2030, up from the current level of 54 million tonnes.
