China March corn exports down; soy imports up
China's corn exports in March fell 61 percent on-year to 7,777 tonnes, while soy imports increased 66 percent on-year to 3.86 million tonnes, according to preliminary data issued by the General Administration of Customs Friday (Apr 10).
China exported 2,670 tonnes of corn in February, and has exported 10,473 tonnes of corn in the year to date, down 87.2 percent on-year.
China's total grain exports in March decreased 50 percent on-year to 280,000 tonnes of grain, the data said.
China has imported 10.15 million tonnes of soy so far this year, up 30 percent on-year.
Soy imports were 2.32 million tonnes last March.
In February, China imported 3.26 million tonnes of soy.
