EU requests Romania to follow pig anesthetic regulation
The EU has called on Romania to stop its traditional ritual pig slaughtering that do not use anesthetics.
Animal welfare organisation, Eurogroup for Animals, have discovered that many Romanian families have slaughter pigs without first administering anesthetics, which is against EU regulations.
It is traditional for Romanian families to slaughter pigs without using anesthetics but the EU has now requested Romania to drop the tradition in favour of the regulation.
