China's live poultry export down 26 percent for first two months of 2007
China exported almost 1.6 million heads of poultry valued at US$3.2 million US dollars in February 2007.
Exports for the first two months of the year was 2.8 million heads valued at US$4.87 million, down 26.1 percent and 21.4 percent respectively, compared to the same period last year, according to the General Administration of Customs:
Number of birds shipped rose 30 percent in 2005 after a sharp 50-percent fall in 2004.
Poultry exports started declining in April last year, with all the months from June onwards seeing a more-than-20 percent decline.
