Argentina's January wheat exports up 59 percent on-year
Argentina exported 1.444 million tonnes of wheat in January, up 59 percent from the 910,511 tonnes shipped during the same month a year earlier, the latest Agriculture Secretariat data show.
Brazil was the leading importer of Argentine wheat in January, purchasing 728,117 tonnes compared with 656,469 tonnes a year ago.
Corn exports
Argentina exported 359,491 tonnes of corn in January, down sharply from the 838,373 tonnes shipped a year earlier.
Spain was the leading importer, buying 75,715 tonnes, while South Africa imported 47,872 tonnes. Malaysia, Iran, and Chile were also major buyers.
