China corn supply to increase

An initial expected decline in China's corn supply in 2005 will likely be reversed because of an increase in planting acreage, said the Ministry of Agriculture. Total corn demand is also expected to improve.

The ministry also expects a general oversupply of soybeans for this crop year, but demand would increase as well. There is no increase in soybean planting acreage.

For wheat, total consumption is expected to fall 4.3 percent from 2004 as exports and feed consumption have declined.
