Serbia may beat Holland's agricultural export capacity
Serbia has the capacity to beat Holland in the agricultural and food product exports, reaching the value of EUR62 billion (US$81 billion), stated Deputy Head of the EU Delegation in Serbia Adriano Martins.
At the conference on Serbian agriculture, he added that Serbia was the only candidate country for membership in the EU that had surplus in the agrarian exports, and also that last year the exports were increased by 20%, while the agrarian products make for the 50% of the total Serbian exports.
Serbian Minister of Agriculture Dusan Petrovic has said that all agrarian measures are aimed at the growth of the yield and production in agriculture, as well as on the increase of exports and growth of the GDP.
He has stressed that in Serbia 800,000 families are involved with agriculture, and 400,000 the agriculture is their main occupation, so the goal of the government to improve that sector is clear, as one of the pillars of the national economy.
