US reviews antidumping tariffs on Vietnam catfish exporters
The US Department of Commerce (DoC) is reviewing the antidumping duties on three Vietnamese exporters of "tra" and "basa" catfish on its operations from August 1, 2006 to January 31, 2007, according to the Vietnam Seafood Exporters and Processors Association (VASEP).
According to VASEP, the three exporters: Quang Vinh Fisheries Corp., Ngoc Thai Co. Ltd. and Anvifish Co. Ltd had submitted documents proving that they had neither exported frozen "tra" and "basa" fillets to the US nor affiliated with any Vietnamese exporters and processors who exported "tra" and "basa" catfish to the US during the time of investigation.
Meanwhile, the DoC rejected the Southern Fishery Industry Co. Ltd.'s request for a new review, saying that the company has failed on time to provide documents and meet other requirements to qualify for a new evaluation, added VASEP.
The association also said DoC will issue a preliminary decision in six months and the final decision will be due in nine months.
