China lysine market stable as one producer cut production

Lysine prices stayed flat during the week ending April 8.

One major producer in China made an announcement to cease operation of one of its plants in northeast China. However, as buyers have stocked ample inventories, lysine market remained stable amid slow demand.

Average transacted price of 98.5-percent lysine was unchanged at RMB7.07/kg.

Hog market is expected to recover slowly with the support of the government's pork procurement programme while soymeal prices stabilise gradually. The demand for lysine is therefore poised to increase in the coming period.

RMB1=US$0.1614 (Apr 9)
