In early 2014, Brazil's production costs of broilers and pigs calculated by Embrapa Swine and Poultry Concordia (SC), under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, are showing similar behaviours.

From January to February, the ICPPoultry/Embrapa went from 161.12 to 162.20 points, respectively. But in the year, the index is down 2.14% as the value of December 2013 was 165.68 points.

Already ICPSwine/Embrapa recorded 173.82 points in January to 171.89 in February. During the year, the index referring to the cost of pig production accumulates a low of 2.28% since December 2013 when the ICPSwine was 175.88 points.

Considering the last 12 months, since March of 2013, both the ICPPoultry and ICPSwine accumulate highs of 3.57% and 5.50%, respectively. In February, the cost of animal feed accounted for 77.58% of the composition of ICPSwine and 72.46% of the composition of ICPPoultry.
