Swiss Nestle invests US$138 million in Chilean milk factory
Swiss food maker, Nestle had invested over CHF127 million (US$138 million) to open a milk factory in Chile.
The plant will produce a number of milk products and ingredients with added nutritional value. The production will serve the domestic market or will be exported to the US, Central America, the Middle East and Asia.
When fully operational, it will have a production capacity of 30,000 tonnes of milk powder. It will create 300 direct jobs and 1,500 indirect jobs.
