Serbia to see rising corn output during Oct 2013 - Sep 2014
The USDA has forecasted Serbia's corn production at seven million tonnes for October 2013 to September 2014, a sharp rise from the 3.5 million tonnes produced in 2012 and an increase from the 6.4 million tonnes produced in 2011/12.
Corn exports are projected at two million tonnes. Domestic use is seen at 4.6 million tonnes, thereof a feed and residual use of 4.2 million tonnes. This should lead to ending stocks of 828,000 tonnes.
Wheat production in May 2013 - April 2014 is also expected to rise on-year at 2.4 million tonnes. Exports are projected to rise to 800,000 tonnes, while domestic use is seen unchanged at 1.5 million tonnes. This should lead to higher ending stocks of 324,000 tonnes.
