Ukraine lifts ban on Austria's poultry imports

The State Committee for Veterinary Medicine of Ukraine has removed the import ban on Austria's poultry products and raw materials.

The ban was introduced in April 1998 in connection with registration of Newcastle disease on the territory of that country. On April 6, 2011, the prohibition was repealed by the decision of the Chief State Inspector of Veterinary Medicine of Ukraine.

As noted by the veterinary medicine committee, Ukraine has allowed the import of poultry products from Austria in connection with the fact that Newcastle disease has not been registered in that country since August 2009.
