New heating system reduces costs for Canadian broiler producers

The Canadian poultry industry has tapped into a low-cost, high-value solar air heating technology SolarWall®, which appears ideally suited to broiler house operations.

The technology was invented in Canada by Conserval Engineering Inc., which developed the building integrated system with fast return-on-investment and energy displacement of up to 30%.

The SolarWall system doubles as a weather-proof facade and also serves to re-capture building heat-loss. It was originally developed for large commercial and industrial giants looking for a low-cost way of reducing their building ventilation costs. The technology has been deployed to large public and private sector organisations in more than 30 countries on five continents such as Auchan, Jaguar, Wal-Mart, Bombardier, Boeing, Ford, NASA, US Army and over 500 broiler house applications.
