Foster Farms considering a new processing plant

Poultry processor Foster Farms is considering opening a new processing facility in Colorado.

According to Meatingplace.com, Foster Farms president Don Jackson said that the decision would be finalised within the next few months based on the availability of a sufficient labour force and contract grower interest in raising poultry.

The new facility could be located in northeast Colorado and could provide 1,000 jobs.

Foster Farms is the largest poultry processor in California, where it is based in, with operations in Oregon, Washington and Alabama. The company also operates a hatchery in Colorado.
