China reports bird flu in Tibet to be under control
China said Monday that the recent outbreak of bird flu in Tibet which killed 268 chickens is now under control.
The Agriculture Ministry confirmed that tests by a national laboratory showed the birds had died from bird flu virus, yet the spread of this virus in now contained.
Officials previously warned that bird flu is more active in low temperatures.
Since the start of this year, China has reported three confirmed human deaths from the disease and several outbreaks in poultry.
