The Welsh Assembly Government is pumping a total of GBP3.3 million (US$5.03 million) into the Welsh dairy industry over the next three years.
The aim is to help improve levels of efficiency, sustainability and added value in the dairy supply chain.
Dairy farmers will get advice, support and information on issues ranging from energy efficiency to maximising production efficiency and profits.
The project, funded by the Supply Chain Efficiencies scheme (SCE) through the Rural Development Plan for Wales 2007-2013, will be delivered by two project partners in Coleg Sir Gâr and DairyCo.
It works to achieve the objectives set out in the Dairy Industry Strategic Action Plan for the Welsh Dairy Industry, and will support the development of the Welsh Dairy Roadmap concerned with environmental, animal health, supply chain and production considerations.
