Vietnam To Replan Aquaculture Areas
Vietnam will replan concentrated aquacultural breeding areas, said Deputy Fisheries Minister Nguyen Viet Thang.
Thang said the Fisheries Ministry has zoned off and is running aquacultural breeding areas in the central provinces of Ninh Thuan and Khanh Hoa, southern Ca Mau province and Phu Quoc island. These areas will be equipped with infrastructure facilities like industrial zones and production producing breeds and will be strictly monitored.
The Ministry will diversify aquatic breeds, focusing on shrimp, especially black shrimp which can be raised easily in the Mekong Delta, Thang said.
He noted that fishery promotion forces play an important part in improving skills for aquacultural farmers. Those who are involved in aquaculture should be provided with techniques of selecting and producing quality breeds.
