Kazakh National Food Corporation to build grain elevator in Iran
Kazakh National Food Corporation will construct a grain elevator in Iran, stated the president of the Kazakh Grain Union Nurlan Tleubayev in an interview.
The Kazakh company already rented a land plot for the construction site in Iran's border province. The project will be carried out in a partnership with an Iranian company. Kazakh grain will be delivered to the new facility by railway.
According to Tleubayev, Iran is ready to import 200,000 tonnes of Kazakh grain per month, up from current 50,000-65,000 tonnes through Amirabad seaport. Significantly, Kazakhstan harvested record 27 million tonnes of grain last year.
