Vietnam Resumes Egg Exports

A company in the Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long has exported its first two containers of salted duck eggs since the bird flu outbreak last December.

Each container contained 96,000 eggs, said Truong Huu Nghiep, director of the Vinh Nghiep Export Processing Business.

He said that the eggs were bought from areas uneffected by the virus. The products were inspected by officials at the local veterinary centre.

The enterprise continues to order eggs from large poultry farms in the province in a bid to export more quality salted eggs to Singapore and Hong Kong.

The business is set to export 80 containers of salted duck eggs this year.
