Ghana promotes large-scale fish farming
Ghana's Ministry of Fisheries is promoting large-scale fish farming amid depleting marine catches, said Samuel Manu, Eastern Regional Director of Fisheries.
The ministry would help fish farmers with fingerlings to stock up their ponds and feed for six months, after which the fingerlings are harvested and farmers are expected to repay their debts to the ministry, Manu added.
According to Manu, the ministry is also considering requests from fish farmers for support in constructing fishponds.
