Hebei to establish China's largest grain and oil warehouse

Hebei Province's Grain Department revealed yesterday the construction of the Jingdong Grain and Oil Warehouse project, which began Mar 27 in the Yanjiao Development Zone.

Funded by Sanhe Hopeful Grain and Oil Group, this is largest grain and oil warehouse in China, occupying an area of 29.57ha. It will have two separate areas: a grain and oil storage and logistics area and a trade and information service area.

Storage capacity will reach 1 million tonnes, annual throughput capacity at 8.83 million tonnes, and the medium and long-term target is set at 12 million tonnes.

The project, which involves a total investment of RMB620M, is expected to be completed in 2008.
