CPF poultry processing compartments receive OIE certification
Two chicken processing compartments of CPF have received certificates from the Livestock Development Department, meaning that CPF are raising chickens in compliance to OIE's guidelines.
CPF's compartment systems cover 15 farms, with a production capacity of 5.3 million broilers.
CPF have three other chicken compartments that met the guidelines and would receive certificates, according to Sakchai Sriboonsue, director-general of the department.
That covers a combined 17 farms, raising about 7.3 million broilers.
The OIE chose Thailand as a pilot country for its compartment systems that require farmers to raise poultry in designated areas to contain virus outbreaks more effectively in addition to better biosecurity.
