Low output costs, slow demand soften China calcium phosphate price

Prices slid further during the period in review.

Poor performance of livestock markets decimated the demand for animal feed and consequently calcium phosphate. As the prices of phosphate ore and sulphuric acid were weak, calcium phosphate producers cut prices amid lower output costs to entice buyers.

Pre-May Day fattening of animals will likely stimulate the demands for feeds. Nonetheless, calcium phosphate prices will stay stable at best as feed millers are reluctant to stockpile high inventories with hog and poultry population shrinking.
