Ukrainian grain harvest to reach 54-56 million tonnes in 2013
Despite heavy snowfall in late March, Ukraine's grain harvest may reach 54-56 million tonnes in 2013, a rise of 8-10 million tonnes compared to 2012, said Sergei Stoyanov, General Director of Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation.
According to Stoyanov, any concerns about shortages of some products in Ukraine are groundless, under such conditions.
He explained that catastrophic under-funding of the agricultural industry and low profitability in most households makes it almost impossible to quickly realise the natural potential of Ukraine's lands.
